The JDCF projects
JDCF works across 9 Local Government Areas (LGAs) of Benue state. These include are: Ado, Agatu, Apa, Obi, Ogbadibo, Oju, Okpokwu, Ohimini and Oturkpo, collectively referred hereinafter as the project area. Specifically, JDCF’s cognate experience in the proposed intervention is replete in the following related projects previously implemented by JDCF:
- Humanitarian Assistance to Victims of Herders-farmers Crisis in Igama, Edumoga, Okpokwu LGA Benue State. Funded by Catholic Relief Services (CRS), 2022.
- Distribution of Grains to Indigent Persons in the 65 Parishes and Missions under the Catholic Diocese of Otukpo. Funded by the Federal Government of Nigeria, 2022.
- Construction of Two blocks of classrooms at St Mary Immaculate Nursery and Primary School Ehuhu, Owukpa, Ogbadibo LGA Benue State. Funded by Irish Aid 2021.
- Emergency Assistance for Victims of Attack by Fulani Herdsmen, and Victims of Inferno in Otukpo Main Market. Funded by CRS, 2021.
- Renovation of a community Secondary School in Enungba, Agatu LGA of Benue State. Funded by Combined Service Third World Fund (CSTWF), 2021.
- Alternative Fertilizer Project. Funded by Catholic Caritas Foundation of Nigeria (CCFN), 2021.
- Emergency Humanitarian Response to Vulnerable Households Affected by COVID-19 Lockdown in Benue South Senatorial District. Funded by Irish Aid, 2020.
- START FUND COVID-19 Intervention in Asa, Akpegede, Ogobia, Ogoli, and Adoka in Otukpo LGA. Funded by the Catholic Agency for Overseas Development (CAFOD), 2020.
- COVID-19 Support to Vulnerable Households in Otukpo LGA. Funded by Idoma Daughters and Wives Association (IDWA), 2020.
- Clean Energy Cooking Stoves Initiative, funded by Catholic Caritas Foundation of Nigeria (CCFN), 2020.
- Dousing Ethnic Tension and Violence between Pastoralists and Farmers in the Benue Valley. Funded by Misereor, 2017 – 2020.
- 1Building an Economically, Sustainable and Integrated Cassava Seed System (BASICS) in Obi, Oju, Okpokwu, and Otukpo LGAs, funded by the Melinda and Gates Foundation in collaboration with CRS, National Agricultural and Seed Council (NASC), International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA), and Agricultural Development Programme (ADP), 2014 – 2020.
